Racing action at CWRC's Perkinstown Outhouse Race

Changes are being planned for the 2012 race course at CWRC's Perkinstown Outhouse Race.

The kitchen will open at 11 am with the main event beginning at 1 pm. Come early for better parking.

If you have not seen the race, you must attend. If not for the exciting, hilarious racing action, then for the unforgettable homemade food! You can get Otis’s Famous Roast Pork and locally made sausages along with a tasty variety of homemade soups and chilis and MUCH more. There is a warming tent with all your favorite beverages right on the racetrack. You can download the race rules and registration form below. For additional information, please call Rebecca at 715 427 1002.

NOTE: We have a few sets of skis available if you need a pair for constructing your racing commode.

Event changes for 2012

  1. Race course change: There will be a change to the race course. Event organizers are currently planning to reroute the course to eliminate or minimize the large uphill at the start. While some of us feel strongly that this is a very important part of the course, the majority feel that it is strenuous enough to deter people from participating a second time and takes some of the fun out of the event. And we all feel that taking part in an “outhouse race” is not always about winning, it is about having a great, memorable, FUN time! And coming back to do it again next year!!
  2. First age division change: The largest age division, is being broken in two: 16 to 29 and 30 to 39. With increase participation in recent years, we are looking for more ways for people to be rewarded.
  3. No women’s division, addition of coed: With very few women’s groups turning out, there will no longer be a women’s division, but rather a coed division which will include  all teams with 2 or more female pushers.

Remember that the minimum age was lowered last year to 16 years with signed parental consent to participate. Watch for updates on Chequamegon Wildlife and Rec Club’ Facebook page. See official rules for complete information.

This year, we’re planning ever more  specialty food items like locally-made polish sausages and homemade soups, so bring your friends. On behalf of all the organizers of this event and CWRC, we look forward to seeing you again in Perkinstown on February 25, 2012.
